SINCERITY FOR INDONESIA

At the beginning, I always think that Indonesia with the quote of ‘Bineka Tunggal Ika’ on the national symbol of Garuda Pancasila is just about the diversity of tribe, language, social-culture, religion, and the characteristic of food from each region. But now, I realize that diversity is not only about that, but also about the different aspects. In Indonesia there are smart and lazy people, the rich and the poor, businessman and unemployment. And also the different goods price in each region with the advanced and less-progressive education from the east, middle, and the west part of Indonesia. I can also find that there are many people in the adult age who is able and unable to read in the in the less-developed area of Indonesia. I want to change the situation of education in Indonesia, in case to reduce the number of illiterate and to make the learning environment at school becomes more inspirational, innovative, motivating, and challenging for the student. I never expect to learn the real value of teacher and the importance of the duty that I must carry as a teacher before. This is the beginning of the challenge, and my sincerity for you “Indonesia”
Placement
Teluk Wondama regency is a regency in the West Papua province, Indonesia. With Rasiei as its capital city, it was a part of Manokwari regency which had been standing as an new regency based on Law No. 26 of 2002 with the total area around 953,8 Km2.. This region is very stunning with so many natural resources with the green hill and refreshing beach.

The astronomic position of Teluk Wondama is between 0˚15’ – 3˚25’ SL and 132˚35’ – 134˚45’ EL.
Problem
Some school started from elementary school until high school degree in Teluk Wondama which are observed as sample still have student who are unable to read and count and also still have lack number of study source (books).
Solution
1. The application of School Literacy Movement for all schools in the remote area of Indonesia.
2. The application of innovative learning from teacher that can bring more experience and knowledge to the student (such as study tour)
3. Educational training, equality of teacher quality about school literacy movement, also the need of professional teacher training for the teacher of remote area. Those things will give knowledge and skill to educate and increase the human resources quality, especially for the teacher to support them in facing the technology development in the modern era of 21th century.
4. The need of book distribution. This things can be done by supporting authors to make children literature in a competition, to increase the reading interest of the children in remote area. Besides that, maximizing the program of Jokowi with the free book send on the date of 17 each month. The good distribution of learning source can also bring impact to the student development of learning. Even so, this must also be supervisied well in case to make it reach the outher part of Indonesia.
Hope
The curriculum in the university degree should be giving a chance for their student to undersatnd about school literacy (early literacy, basic literacy, library literacy, media literacy, etc) and teacher assessement literacy. Government should make Profesional Teacher Training (Pendidikan Profesi Guru) for all teacher in Indonesia and making supporting program such as sending teacher to the remote area under SM-3T program. Or another program to increase the human resources quality. Besides that, the equal distribution of learning sources is also necessary to reach all part of Indonesia especially the remote areas.
Reflection
Based on those problems, I try to apply the innovative, inspirational, challenging, and fun learning. The pictures below are the documentation of activitis that cover classical learning, study tour, and the book distribution to the schools in Teluk Wondama.
